GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Following a trio of preseason scrimmages, the Davenport University women's soccer team is set to open its 2026 campaign with a pair of non-conference road matches. The Panthers will travel to Kirksville, Mo., to take on Truman State on Thursday, Aug. 27, before heading to Quincy, Ill., to face Quincy University on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Davenport enters the new season with an experienced group of returners, highlighted by senior defender Jada Spillers. The Portage, Mich., native earned All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors in 2025 and returns as a key piece of the Panthers' back line.

Top Returners
Spillers returns for her senior season after anchoring the Davenport defense a season ago. She started all 20 matches for the Panthers and logged a team-high 1,828 minutes on the pitch.

Senior forward Madison Fant (Haslett, Mich.) also returns after appearing in all 20 matches and making 15 starts during her junior campaign. Fant logged 895 minutes while tallying two goals and two assists on 17 shots.

Senior midfielder Autumn Wakefield (Saginaw, Mich.) adds another experienced presence to the lineup after appearing in all 20 matches last season. Wakefield made three starts and logged 795 minutes while registering eight shots, including two on goal.

Newcomers
Davenport welcomes 11 newcomers to the roster for the 2026 season, including eight freshmen and three transfers.

The freshman class features goalkeeper Lexi Calcamuggio (Rochester Hills, Mich.); midfielders Laney Carlson (Rockford, Mich.), Tatum Borton (Adrian, Mich.) and Alyson Peterson (Frankenmuth, Mich.); forwards Reegan Dunn (Byron Center, Mich.) and Audrey Muterspaugh (Rockford, Mich.); and defenders Ana Zmuda (Goshen, Ind.) and Abigail Waldron (Troy, Mich.).

Joining the Panthers as transfers are junior Isabella Workman from Delta College, defender Maddison Foster from Garden City Community College and defender Emerson Marion (Ypsilanti, Mich.).

Schedule Breakdown
The Panthers open the regular season on Aug. 27 against Truman State in Kirksville, Mo., before traveling to Quincy, Ill., to take on Quincy University on Aug. 29.

Davenport will then meet Jamestown for a neutral-site matchup in Hammond, Ind., on Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. The Panthers return to Grand Rapids for their home opener on Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. before beginning GLIAC play on Sept. 11.

The Panthers are slated to play 14 conference matches during the regular season, with the GLIAC Tournament set to begin Nov. 3.

About the Bulldogs

• Truman State finished the 2025 season with a 5-6-5 overall record and a 5-5-4 mark in GLVC play.
• The Bulldogs and Panthers last met on Sept. 4, 2025, when the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw. The result marked the first tie in the all-time series between the programs.
• Truman State scored 21 goals in 2025 while recording 173 shots, including 86 on goal.
• Senior forward Quinn Nauman returns after earning Third Team All-GLVC and United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Midwest Region honors last season. Nauman started 15 of 16 matches and logged 1,198 minutes while recording five goals and four assists for 14 points. She led the Bulldogs in goals, assists, points and shots.
• Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Siman Loethen returns after starting all 16 matches in 2025. Loethen logged 1,406 minutes in goal and recorded 47 saves while posting a .653 save percentage and a 1.60 goals-against average.
• Head coach Mike Cannon enters his 34th season at the helm of the Truman State program. Cannon has surpassed 350 career victories during his tenure with the Bulldogs.

• Quincy enters 2026 following a 10-4-4 campaign in which it finished 9-2-3 in GLVC play. The Hawks recorded their first double-digit-win season since 2018 and their most conference victories since 2017 while qualifying for the GLVC Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
• The Hawks enter the season with a 36-player roster consisting of 21 returners, 11 freshmen and four transfers. Quincy brings back 9,622 minutes from last year's squad, accounting for approximately 54 percent of its total playing time.
• Goalkeeper Devin Tracy returns for her second season after starting all 18 matches in 2025. Tracy logged 1,560 minutes and finished the year with 53 saves, a 10-4-4 record and a 0.75 goals-against average. She earned Third Team All-GLVC honors for her performance.
• Senior forward Rebecca Rheinheimer returns after leading the Hawks with 10 goals in 2025. She started all 18 matches and logged 1,258 minutes on her way to earning First Team All-GLVC and D2CCA First Team All-Midwest Region honors. Rheinheimer was also twice named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week.
• Head coach Taylor Reis enters his second season at the helm of the Quincy women's soccer program.
