MIDLAND, Mich. – The Davenport University men's cross country team captured the team title at the seventh annual Northwood University Invite on Saturday, while Cierra Guay led the women's team with a top-five finish.

Davenport placed five runners inside the top 13 of the men's four-mile race, finishing with 38 points to edge Saginaw Valley State (48) and host Northwood (51).

Luke Oyster paced the Panthers with a runner-up finish, crossing the line in 20:16.4. Rogan Melling followed in fifth place with a time of 20:23.1, while Lucas Van Meter placed seventh in 20:31.9.

Ian Petruska added an 11th-place finish in 20:39.4, and Jordan Domany rounded out DU's scoring lineup by placing 13th in 20:53.7. Davenport's five scoring runners were separated by just 37.3 seconds.

Liam Bingman finished 35th with a time of 22:08.1, while Aidan Simrau crossed the line in 22:45.5 to place 52nd. Bryson Ballentyne completed the Panthers' lineup with a 61st-place finish in 23:15.9.

On the women's side, Guay led Davenport by placing fifth overall in the 5K with a time of 19:12.3. Freshman Jocelynn Olds was the Panthers' next finisher, crossing the line in 20:41.2 to place 25th.

Kiele Buckner finished 54th with a time of 22:30.6. Davenport entered four runners in the race and did not record a team score.
