CALEDONIA, Mich. – Davenport University hosted Northwood, Hillsdale and Purdue Northwest for the first of its two fall tennis invitationals on Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26. The Panthers recorded 35 singles wins and 16 doubles victories, including results from matches between Davenport teammates.

Leo Phijidvijan, Dan Calver, Reuben Bakker, Abdala Quintero and Thiofhi Tshivhase each won three singles matches against visiting opponents. Phijidvijan defeated Northwood's Juan Perez Garcia, Hillsdale's Zeteny Paragi and Purdue Northwest's Dani Chicano in straight sets. Quintero won a pair of three-set matches before closing with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Purdue Northwest's Rafael Valente.

In doubles, Tshivhase and Bala won three matches, including a 9-7 decision against Purdue Northwest's Pedro Diaz and Valente. Leo Lovalho and Ian Moreira and the pairing of Jacob Hodgman and Calver each earned two wins over visiting teams.
