GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Davenport battled Ferris State to a 1-1 draw last Friday, with the Panthers taking an early lead before the Bulldogs answered late in the first half. Davenport now returns home for a two-match weekend, hosting Grand Valley State on Friday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. before taking on Wayne State on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. in Caledonia.
Audrey Muterspaugh gave Davenport a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute, scoring off an assist from Sofia Capoccia. Capoccia finished with a team-high three shots and added an assist, while Elizabeth Wolter made four saves in the draw, including three during a late Ferris State push to help the Panthers secure the point.
The Panthers enter the week at 4-2-3 overall and 2-2-1 in GLIAC play. Muterspaugh leads Davenport with six goals on the season, while Wolter has recorded 38 saves and two shutouts. Davenport will look to continue its strong conference start when they host Grand Valley State and Wayne State this weekend.
