Grand Rapids, Mich. - The offense continues to sizzle for the Davenport Men's Lacrosse Team as they pulled away late in a 20-10 win over Saginaw Valley State. The win lifts DU to 5-1 on the year as they will now travel to Ball State this weekend.
The two teams played a very close first half as they would each post five goals going into the break. The Panthers came out hot out of halftime as they scored a quick goal only to see the game get tied up very soon after. Davenport would then real off 14 more goals to only 4 from Saginaw to win the game 20-10.
Jake Stricker had 8 saves on 18 shots on net. Adam Boonenberg had a breakout game with nine points (8 goals and 1 assist). The Panthers man down defense played very well again as they only gave up 2 goals off penalties. DU also weathered a six on three penalty situation without giving up a goal and got nine goals from their midfield.
