ADRIAN, Mich. - With only two series remaining before the end of the regular season, Davenport picked up two big wins over Siena Heights on Sunday afternoon in Adrian. DU won 5-2 in game one then held off the Saints 11-8 in the second to take the season series 4-0.

Game one saw a very balanced offensive lineup take charge for the Panthers as four different players brought across runs and Haley Stehouwer, Kristina Krum and Nikki Aldrich all posted multi-hit games in the 5-2 win.

Karlee Despres, fresh off two wins from Saturday at Concordia, picked up another victory as she finished with six strikeouts while only giving up four hits and only one earned run.

Game two was more of an offensive showcase as the outcome was not decided until the final at bat. DU got numerous quality at-bats as seven different players posted at least two hits led by Nikki Aldrich and Ali Dawson who finished with three each.

After taking a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 4th, the Saints posted four runs for their first lead of the day but DU came right back with three runs of their own to take a 7-4 lead.

The Saints then tacked on two more runs in each of the next two innings compared to only one for the Panthers setting the score at 8-8 heading into the final inning.

After a hit by pinch hitter Morgan Greenfield, Davenport got a huge two-run homerun from Haley Stehouwer and followed with a third run in the top of the seventh in which they would hang on for the win 11-8.

Despres again got the win for a perfect 4/4 weekend after coming in on relief for starter Ali Dawson.

The two wins lift Davenport to 28-21 on the year and they are now .500 (13-13) in league action. The Panthers will conclude the regular season with two more games on Monday in a makeup series against GR rival Aquinas College. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 at AQ.
