DEARBORN, Mich. - Davenport lost its 5th and 6th straight conference games today when they fell to UM-Dearborn 6-1 and 4-1. DU is now 15-14 on the year and will begin a six game home stretch on Wednesday when they take on Aquinas College.
In game one Dearborn got on the board early scoring two runs in the first which came off of DU miscues. They would then add three more runs in the third, and then another in the sixth to go up 6-0. DU would get on the board in the seventh off a homerun by Kristina Krum, but the late rally would not be enough as they would fall 6-1.
In game two Dearborn would again get on the board first in the second inning off a homerun, and then add one more in the fourth and two in the sixth. Down 0-4 in the seventh inning Davenport would attempt another comeback but would only be able to push one run across off hits by Nikki Aldrich and Haley Stehouwer.
Karlee Despres would be given the loss in game one and Kassi Johnson would be given the loss in game two. On the day the DU pitching staff would give up five homeruns which would account for eight of Dearborn's ten runs.
Davenport is now 15-14 on the year and 0-6 in WHAC play. They will begin their six game home stretch on Wednesday when they take on the Saints of Aquinas at 4:00pm at the Christian Recreation Center.
