GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Mike Soto and Zack Feher combined for eight points on Friday night as the host Panthers routed the Lakers of GVSU 8-2 to claim their third win in a row.  Davenport will travel to Hudsonville on Saturday for an 8:00pm matchup at Georgetown Ice Center.

Coming off just a single game weekend last week, the Panthers had fresh legs and it showed early on as they took a commanding 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.  Scoring first for the Panthers was Sam Waldhart on an assists from Mike Soto (Muskegon, Mich.) and Zack Feher (Livonia, Mich.).  Just 4:30 later, Feher scored his first of two goals on the night to put DU up 2-0.  Both goals came even strength.

The scoring would come to an end in the first period at the 1:12 mark when Justin Welker (Speedway, Ind.) scored on an unassisted power play goal.  DU outshot the Lakers 12-10.

The second started fast for Davenport once again as Soto hooked up with Feher and Garrett Garber (Cadillac, Mich.) to put the Panthers up 4-0.  After a GVSU power play goal, the Panthers closed the second period with two more goals with Feher picking up his second and Garrett Russell (Midland, Mich.) collecting his first.

A late shot that hit the cross bar was ruled a goal for GVSU and Davenport went into the second intermission with a 6-2 lead.

The scoring did not stop there though as John Brooks (Grand Rapids, Mich.) collected two unassisted goals in the final period with the final coming on a 1 on 2 breakout for the first year player from Grandville.

DU netminder John Cruse (Shelby Twp, Mich.) was solid in net as he picked up his eighth win of the season compared to just three losses.

The two teams will meet once again on Saturday as they will take to the ice in Georgetown Ice Center in Hudsonville, Mich.  Tom Biondo will have the call live on the DAN starting with the pre-game show at 7:45pm.
