Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - On a day that Davenport honored it's five seniors for their contributions to Davenport Softball, it was sophomore Karlee Despres (Belmont, Mich.) who would lead DU to two 5-0 victories over Siena Heights. The Lady Panthers are now 44-14 overall and will finish in 2nd place in the WHAC Conference with a 21-7 overall record.

In game one DU would jump on the board early when Haley Stehouwer (Wyoming, Mich.) would score off a RBI ground ball from Heather Brusokas (Glendale, Calif.). Up 1-0, the Panthers would push four more runs across in the third inning to take the 5-0 lead.

Seniors Nikki Aldrich (Robinson, Mich.) and Stehouwer would start the inning with back to back singles before being moved over to second and third off a sacrifice bunt from Morgan Greenfield (Wyoming, Mich.). Brusokas would then clear the bases with a three-run homerun to left field. Ali Dawson (Galesburg, Mich.) would be credited with the last RBI in the inning when she would score Despres from second base off a single to center field.

With a 5-0 lead, Despres would continue to settle in on the mound and earn the complete game shut-out, striking out four batters and giving up zero hits. The no-hitter is the first one this year for Despres, but the third of her career.

In game two it would take until the sixth inning for DU to get on the board, pushing five runs across to give them the 5-0 victory.

Senior Kristin Miedema (Newaygo, Mich.) would start the inning with a double to center field (her third hit of the game), before advancing to third base on a wild pitch. Miedema would then score off an RBI single from Kelsey Egyhazi (Mishawaka, Ind.) to put DU up 1-0.

Three hitters later Despres would come to the plate with the bases juiced and hit a grand slam homerun to right field to seal the 5-0 victory for the Panthers.

Brianna Carpenter (Irvine, Calif.) would pitch another gem on the mound as she would go the distance giving up just two hits while striking out four.

The Panthers are now 44-14 on the year and have finished 21-7 in league play. DU will be back in action on May 6th for the WHAC Conference Tournament in Battle Creek, Mich. Stay tuned to www.dupanthers.com for tournament information and game times.
