Box Score Game Scoring
UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Panthers started their three game road trip on the right track with a 4-3 victory over Saginaw Valley State. With the win, DU has won seven straight games and increased their record to 20-7 on the season and 9-3 in MCHC action.
Davenport started the scoring with a power play goal off the stick of
Norm Farr (Jenison, Mich.) three minutes into the first period. Back-to-back penalties by DU gave the Cardinals a 5-on-3 advantage with the home team capitalizing with a Ben Welch goal. The Panthers would go into the first period tied up at one goal apiece.
A quick start from SVSU gave the Cardinals a 3-1 lead, but the Panthers fought back with two goals in 9 seconds to tie the game back up at 3-3.
Chad Ouellette (Windsor, Ontario) scored the first goal and was set up by a pass from
Jason Kraemer (Livonia, Mich.). Scoring the game tying goal was
Sam Waldhart (Walker, Mich.) with the assist going to Ouellette.
The Panthers scored the game winning goal 6 minutes into the third period when
Chad Ouellette scored his second goal of the game with helpers coming from
Ben Duthler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and
Justin Welker (Speedway, Ind.)
John Cruse (Shelby Twp, Mich.) picked up the win in goal for the Panthers.
The Panthers will now travel to Connecticut for a game Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. against Farmingdale State College in Hamden, Conn. DU closes out their road trip Sunday at noon, when the Panthers take on Southern Connecticut State University.
