Davenport Sweeps Calvin with 4-1 Victory

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport finished the home-and-home sweep of Calvin College Saturday night when the Panthers defeated the Knights 4-1. Davenport received goals from four different players in the game. Davenport will be back in action on Friday, November 11 when they travel to Oakland University.

Davenport got off to quick start in the opening period. Mike Soto scored 0:45 into the game on a pass from Daniel Hume. Later in the period Calvin tied the game during a 4 on 4 after both teams received minor penalties. With 13:12 remaining, Hume netted the final goal of the period, after receiving a pass in front of the net from Same Waldhart.

The game remained 2-1 the first 4 minutes of the 2nd period before Zack Feher gave Davenport a 3-1 lead on an assist from Ben Duthler. With less than 3 minutes remaining in the second period Chad Ouellette gave Davenport a comfortable 4-1 lead after receiving a pass from Waldhart.

The 3rd period was controlled by good defense. Neither team was able to find the back of the net.
Davenport totaled outshot the Knights 39-21 on the night. Andrew Habasevich received the win for the Panthers as he recorded 20 saves. Davenport will be back in action on November 11 as they travel to Oakland University.
