CHICAGO, Ill - A goal with just under 10 minutes to play in regulation and a second one with less than two minutes to play in the second overtime gave the host Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech a dramatic 2-1 come from behind win. Davenport got a goal from Hjalmar Danielsen but allowed the PK goal in regulation to send it to the extra time where they fell 2-1. DU is now just 1-6-2 on the season.

Hjalmer Danielsen's goal early in the second half was not enough to lift the Panthers to what looked to be like an impressive road win at Illinois Tech who came into the game receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll.

After a scoreless first half, the Panthers struck first when Stuart Collins found Danielsen for a nice goal in the 61st minute.  The tally was the first of the year for Danielsen and DU would hold onto that lead until the final 10 minutes when an unfortunate yellow card in the box allowed IIT to get a penalty kick opportunity in which they converted to send the match to OT.

The two teams played even throughout the extra time but the Hawks broke through with only 1:15 remaining in the second OT for the game winner.  Kevin O'Brien took the loss in net as the junior falls to 1-4-2 on the season.

Davenport (1-6-2 overall) will host their first game of the season on Sunday when they take on Saginaw Valley State (NCAA D2) at 2:00pm at the Turf Field.  The Panthers play three of their next five matches at home after opening with nine straight away contests.
