Davenport Swept by Robert Morris; Lose 4-3

Box Score

Chicago, Ill.- Davenport suffered a disappointing 4-3 loss to Robert Morris on Saturday night. The Panthers took a 3-1 lead into the 3rd period but were outscored 3-0 in the final period.

Once again it was the Panthers who got on the score board first. Adam Lippert received a pass out in front from Garrett Russell and put it in the back off the net to give DU a 1-0 lead. Three minutes later Robert Morris finished the scoring in the first as they pulled even with the Panthers at 1-1.

In the second period Davenport held the Eagles scoreless while they netted two goals of their own. Bryon Guerin scored the first of the period 5 minutes  in on a power play goal assisted by Zachary Bodziak and Russell. Then with 6 minutes remaining in the period Bodziak gave the panthers a 3-1 lead. Zack Feher got possession of the puck deep in the zone after an aggressive forecheck and found Bodziak who deked the goalie and slide the puck in.

The Panthers skated into the third period with confidence. However, just over six minutes into the period the Eagles slipped the puck just inside the near post and started their comeback. Just like the previous night you could sense the momentum shifting towards Robert Morris. Two minutes later the Eagles struck again and pulled even at 3-3. Then with seven minutes remaining the Eagles scored the game winner for another come from behind victory.
