Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – Davenport jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period then saw that lead disappear early on in the second period. The Panthers responded with four unanswered goals as they picked up a goal in the second and three more in the third.
Jordan Steger and
Blake Damerow led the Panthers with two goals each.
Davenport skated with a short bench on Thursday night due to injuries and suspensions, but that didn't slow the Panthers down. Davenport came out and outshot Adrian 47-20 in 6-3 victory over the Bulldogs.
Byron Guerin got the Panthers on the scoreboard first in the opening period with his third goal of the season. Later in the period with
John Deal beat the clock as he scored with just six seconds remaining in the period on a play assisted by
Branden Burton.
Davenport took a 2-0 lead into the second period, but the lead didn't last long. Seven minutes into the period Adrian scored two goals one minute apart to tie the game 2-2. The Panthers responded quickly and
Jordan Steger scored a goal two minutes later to give Davenport a 3-2 lead heading into the third.
Davenport came out and put the game away in third as they scored three unanswered goals to gain a 6-2 lead. In his first game of the year
Blake Damerow scored two goals in the final stanza.
Jordan Steger added his second goal of the game to finish the scoring for the Panthers.
