GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport and Adrian Black combined for 17 goals Sunday afternoon but it was the Panthers who came away with the 10-7 win.
Dugan Kelly led Davenport with four goals while five other Panthers chipped in on the scoring including
Donald Sund who netted a goal and picked up three assists. Davenport won't be back in action until December 1
st when they host Aquinas at Patterson Ice Center.
The first period went back and forth with Adrian Black jumping out to the early lead.
Zack Feher and
Dugan Kelly scored back-to-back goals within a minute and half of each other to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead. But the Bulldogs came right back to score consecutive goals to retake the lead, the second goal coming shorthanded. With 2:43 remaining in the opening period,
John Deal netted a goal to tie the game at three.
The second period was all Davenport. Kelly scored 55 seconds into the period to retake the lead for the Panthers and
Donald Sund scored a few minutes later to give Davenport a two goal edge. After the Bulldogs scored a goal, Byron Guerin scored a pair of goals with a
Brandon Madaj goal in between to increase the Panthers lead to 8-4.
Adrian scored just before the end of the second period and then early in the third to cut the deficit to two. Kelly scored his third goal 15 seconds after the Adrian goal to make the score 9-6 in favor of the Panthers. Midway through the final period Adrian added another goal but wouldn't get any closer. Kelly added his fourth goal on an empty net with 20 seconds remaining.
Dugan Kelly tied the D3 Hockey single game record with four goals while Byron Guerin added two goals.

Zack Feher,
John Deal, and Donuld Sund each chipped in with a goal. Sund also added three assists to go with his goal while
Jake Otto, Jake Hambridge, and
Willis Gelow picked up two assists each. In total, 15 Davenport players recorded a point in the win.
Post-Game Notes
Davenport outshot Adrian Black 54-18…This was just the second meeting between Davenport and Adrian Black, the other meeting came earlier this season when Davenport came away with a 6-3 win…The Panthers have won seven straight games at Patterson Ice Center.
