GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Davenport's deep bench helped the Panthers move past Lansing CC as they wore down the Stars and scored seven third period goals. Donald Sund recorded a hat trick and an assist and Dugan Kelly had a career night with two goals and four assists to lead DU. Davenport will finish their weekend tomorrow at home against Michigan State at 4:00 pm.
Similar to Friday night's game, it took the Panthers a period to get going. Donald Sund opened up the scoring in the first with a nice one-timer from Dugan Kelly. Three minutes later the Stars pulled even with a goal by Kyle Storey-Szombati. With 3:36 left in the first Davenport took the lead for good as Kelly picked up his first goal of the game on the power play.
The further along the game went, the more Davenport began to control the play. DU picked up three more goals from Damerow, Mathieu, and Sund in the second period as they built a 5-1 lead.
In the third period the Panthers continued to build upon their lead as they scored seven third period goals by seven different players. With 10:29 Donald Sund completed his hat trick as he buried a breakaway goal to put DU up 10-2. Davenport finished out the game picking up two more powere play goals by Steger and Otto.
Davenport will look to stay perfect on the weekend tomorrow afternoon as they take on Michigan State at Patterson Ice Center. Opening face-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm. Follow DU athletics on twitter for live updates of the game.

Davenport went 5 for 9 on the power play while Lansing CC went 0-5…DU outshot the Stars 49-20…The Panthers have won seven straight games for the second time this season.
