Box Score MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Davenport baseball team took to the field today looking for their eighth straight victory. Central Michigan University was the opponent that stood in their path on a great day for baseball. However, the Panthers would come up short today with a final of 15-7, to the Chippewa.
Davenport never really got going offensively or defensively against the Division 1 Chips, but battled through to the very end. Offensively the Panthers saw production from
Austin Licon in the DH role as he went 2 for 3 at the plate while scoring twice.
Jotham Woo also was productive offensively as he earned 4 bases on balls, scored a run and earned a RBI.
Derrick Gentile also helped the Panther offense going 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBI while
Drew Kennedy went 1 for 2, scored twice and had 3 RBI.
The game itself was a long affair that saw a combined 21 walks and 6 hit batsmen. The Panthers were not without opportunities to score as they left 13 runners on base for the game.
The Panthers begin WHAC play with against Indiana Tech this weekend, March 17th and 18th at home.

Post-Game Quotes – Kevin Tidey
Overall thoughts on today's game – The game was brutal, pitchers couldn't throw strikes, we couldn't field the ball and we swung at pitches that were out of the strike zone all day. We did not come out and play baseball today and that shows through the 17 freebies we gave them today. Frustrating to have a opportunity against a Division I opponent and not take advantage.
