GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The DU tennis teams returned to the court today after a short break and each posted convinving wins over the University of St. Francis (Ill.). The men won 7-2 to improve to 7-8 on the year while the No. 24 ranked women won 9-0 to improve to 13-5.
The women continue to roll along as they posted their sixth win of the spring season to only three setbacks. DU picked up three wins in doubles and put it together with a sweep of the six singles matches to win 9-0. It marked the sixth time of the year DU has won 9-0.
Kristi Kuzdal and
Angelica Woods posted the most convincing wins in singles as they swept every game from their opponent as they each won 6-0, 6-0. All three doubles teams won by identical 8-2 scores to finish off the DU win.
On the men's side, DU won all three doubles matches to get things started with the team of
Tyler Chambers and
Eric Pell sweeping all 8 games from their opponents for a convincing 8-0 win.
In singles, DU was led by the efforts from No. 3-6.
Christian Woods won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3, Mattheus Carvalho won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4,
Eric Pell won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and
Tyler Chambers won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.
