Davenport jumped out to an early lead when

Jordan Richtsmeier for a goal less than five minutes into the game.
Cody Cross netted a goal a few minutes later to give Davenport a 2-0 lead.
St. Johns got on the board with a man-up goal early in the second quarter. Davenport responded with a
Taylor Keyworth goal a few minutes later to push the Panthers' lead back to two. But St. Johns would add another goal in the second to make it a one goal game heading into the half.
The third quarter was all Davenport with the Panthers using a four goal run to push their lead to 7-2. Cross,
Daniel Hume, and
Jack Turcotte each had goals in the third with Cross scoring twice including a goal with less than a second left in the quarter.
St. Johns scored first in the fourth quarter but Davenport came back with a goal 10 seconds later to halt any thoughts of a comeback for the Johnnies. On the goal,
Bobby Collar won the faceoff and immediately passed the ball to
Nathaniel Adkins who took the ball down the field for the quick score.
St. Johns added another goal but wouldn't get any closer as the Panthers closed out the 8-4 win.
Alexis Buque picked up the win in net as he made 12 saves and allowed only three goals in over 56 minutes of play.
Zach Higgins came in with a few minutes left, after a Buque penalty, and proceeded to make four saves and allow one goal.
Davenport improves to 7-3 on the season. The Panthers will be in action again next weekend when they take on #8 Briarcliffe and #14 SCAD in Long Island, N.Y. The games will take place on Friday and Sunday, live stats will be available for both games.
Post-Game Quote – Bob Clarkson
Thoughts on Game – “It's always nice to get a win against a top team and a great program in St. Johns. Our defense, again today, looked strong, holding St. Johns to just four goals. But we have to get control of our penalties.”
