Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. –After falling behind 2-0 after the first period the Panthers outscored the Falcons 6-1. DU scored three goals in the first three minutes of the second period and three goals in the final five minutes of the third to close the game.
Tim Davis picked up his fifth win in net.
The Panthers fell into an early hole in the first period as Bowling Green State jumped out to a 2-0 lead. In the second period Davenport came out and quickly took the lead from the Falcons.
Zack Feher put the Panthers on the score board ten seconds into the second period with a power play goal set up by
Jordan Crawford and
Daniel Swink. Two minutes later
Branden Burton tied the game 2-2 with Crawford and
Garrett Russell picking up the assists. Just 20 seconds after Burton tied the game,
John Deal scored the Panthers third goal in three minutes to take their first lead of the game. Before the end of the period the Flacons added a goal to tie the game 3-3.
The Panthers and Falcons skated back and forth for the first 15 minutes of the third period trying to score the go ahead goal. With 5:12 left in the game DU was finally able to find the back of the net on a goal by Russell. Similar to the second period, the Panthers scored three goals in just over three minutes of play.
Jordan Steger and
Bryon Guerin sealed the game for Davenport as they each picked up a goal in the final three minutes.
