GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers return this weekend for their third and fourth games of Michigan Collegiate Hockey play against Adrian College- Black Friday and Saturday. DU improved their record to 12-2 after sweeping Saginaw Valley State in a home-and-home series last weekend. Adrian is coming off of a close 4-5 loss against Calvin College which updated their record to 5-4. Looking to build on a four game winning streak, Chris Green and his skaters will host the Bulldogs on Friday at Patterson starting at 8:20p.m. Saturday, Adrian College will bring the Panthers to Adrian to finish the series out at 7:00 p.m.

Scouting Adrian College- Black
The Adrian College- Black Bulldogs currently have a record of 5-4 after losing last weekend to Calvin College in a close game resulting in a 5-4 win for Calvin, which hurt their Michigan Collegiate Hockey record, adjusting it to 1-3. This season, Adrian has posted 34 goals and 48 assists for 82 points total. Several different players lead the team in offensive categories including Brendon Szczepaniak who leads the time in points with 12, and Daniel Long who tops the Bulldogs scoring chats by scoring six goals this season. Matt Neal is Adrian's starting goalie and holds a 2-2 record. Neal has captured 172 saves already this season, and has a goal against average of 3.44. Jeremy Cross, who head coaches the Bulldogs, and his team will be on the ice at Patterson Friday to start their weekend series against DU.
Weekend Recap and Scouting Davenport
Davenport improved their record last weekend to 12-2 after sweeping Saginaw Valley State in two games. They won 6-3 Friday at the Cardinals home rink, and returned to Patterson Saturday to complete a big 10-2 win in three periods of play. Donald Sund leads DU in points and assists with 29 points and a total of 17 assists. Sund had a six point weekend after scoring a hat-trick in the first period of Saturday night's game and following up with two assists in the second period. Jake Otto stands at the top of the Panthers goal leaders with 13, after he slipped two shots past SVSU's goalie on Saturday. John Cruse holds an 8-2 record in net this year with 217 saves so far this year.
Last Season Meetings
Last season was the first year that Adrian had been split into two separate teams, gold and black. The Panthers met Adrian College- Black twice last season; they were able to walk away with a win following both of the games, 6-3 when they played in Adrian and 10-7 later in the season when the two teams played at Patterson. Last season Dugan Kelley, Bryon Guerin and Sund all had a big game against Adrian when they played at Patterson. Kelley captured four goals, Guerin put two past the Bulldogs goalie, and Sund snagged a goal and had three assists.
