GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers come off of a weekend series against Adrian College- Black, which resulted in each team walking away with a win, and looks ahead to Friday where they will host Grand Valley State at 8:20 p.m. GVSU went 2-1 last weekend, finishing with a win and a loss against Calvin College Friday and Saturday, and gathering another win in a close game against Xavier University Sunday. Both teams look to add a couple of wins to their MCHC records this weekend on Friday at 8:20 p.m. and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Allendale.

Scouting Grand Valley State
The GVSU Lakers have had a fairly impressive season, posting a 13-8 record and a 4-1 record in the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) that they participate in along with DU. Grand Valley has accumulated 80 goals and 102 assists for a grand total of 182 points this season. Dalton Brennon and Dante Delabbio lead their team in these offensive categories, Brennon leads in goals with nine, Delabbio tops the team in assists with 13, and the boys tie for the point leader, each at 19 points. Laker starting goalie Jiri Alberle, a Czech Republic native, is the starting goalie for GVSU and holds a GAA of 2.86 and has made 449 saves this season in net.
Last weekend Grand Valley played a series against Calvin College followed by a Sunday game against Xavier University. In game one versus Calvin they won on unfamiliar ice with a 3-0 shutout win. The next however, Calvin came to GVSU's rink and responded with a 5-1 win, and two teams finished the series out with a tie. The Lakers were not finished with hockey for the weekend yet and hosted Xavier University on Sunday, which resulted in a close game in which GVSU won 3-2.
Weekend Recap and Scouting Davenport
Davenport hosted Adrian College- Black last Friday and halfway through the third period it looked like they had the game in the palm of their hand, but AC was able to get two quick third period goals which tied the game at 4-4. The Bulldogs eventually ended the game with an overtime goal with a minute and a half to go. Saturday the Panthers looked to conquer Adrian at their home rink, and they succeed with an 8-3 win, finishing the weekend series at 1-1 and pointing their focus to this weekend against the Lakers.
This Season DU has a record of 13-3 and an MCHC record of 3-1. The Panthers have put up 96 goals on enemy teams this year and along with 118 assists, have totaled an impressive 214 points.
Donald Sund has been a model for the offensive this year by contributing 32 points to the team, more than any other player this season. Among those 32 points is another team high of 19 assists. The goal category belongs to
Jake Otto who has fired 15 shots that have nailed the back of the net. 225 of 314 saves made by DU this year have come from veteran player
John Cruse who has been a big player for Davenport this season.
