CLERMONT, Fla. – Battling rain and some stiff competition did not hold the Lady Panthers back from posting a 3-2 record through the first half of their annual spring break trip and now Davenport will play seven more over the next three days before heading home to Michigan. DU will face Goshen, SUNY-Canton, UM-Dearborn, Felician, Bellevue and Ave Maria with hopes of picking up some more wins and experience before heading north.

Head coach Ronda Varnesdeel and her team are off to a solid start in the sunshine state, but it is the sunshine that has been limited so far as DU has had to wait out rain delays and move games around to try and get as many competitions in as possible.

A Quick Look at Goshen - Goshen seems to be an opponent DU plays almost every year down in Florida and the Maple Leafs are off to a rough start so far going 0-8. DU is 4-0 against GC all-time.

A Quick Look at SUNY-Canton - 2013 marks the second straight year DU will face the Kangaroos. SUNY is
under the direction of first year head coach Jackie Klahold who was a standout NCAA DI player at Florida Atlantic. DU defeated SUNY 11-0 in five innings late Tuesday night.

A Quick Look at Felician College - Felician is the second NCAA DII foe that DU will face (Wilmington was the other) and the Golden Falcons are under third-year head coach Lori Kwiatkowski who used to coach in the NAIA at Azusa Pacific (Calif.).

A Quick Look at Bellevue University - Bellevue of the MCAC has been a very successful team under head coach Michala Cimino as they have made the NAIA Tournament two of the last three seasons.

A Quick Look at Ave Maria - The Gyrenes are the second team DU will play from the SUN conference and they are led by head coach Tim Speakman and they have already played 12 games so far in 2013.

Davenport will also face WHAC foe UM-Dearborn in a non-league contest on Friday. All of the games will be broadcast live on the Davenport Athletics Network and live stats will also be available.
