National Tournament Central
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The national tournament at the American Collegiate Hockey Association D3 level is down to just four teams and Davenport is making its second straight appearance there. The Panthers, winners of Pool C, will face off against Pool D winner the University of Michigan-Flint on Friday at 2:00 p.m. EST in one of two semifinal games. The other semifinal pits Adrian College against Hope College and the championship game will be played at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday.
POOL C WINNERS: Davenport walked away with their first two games of pool play by defeating SUNY-Maritime 7-1 and Marquette 6-2 but the third and final game went to overtime with the Panthers coming out on tip 6-5 over Kennesaw State. DU finishes Pool C with an overall record of 3-0 while Marquette, Kennesaw State and SUNY-Maritime all finished with 1-2 records.

SCOUTING UM-Flint: Michigan at Flint will be making its first ever appearance in the ACHA D3 National Tournament semifinals. The Victors got the tournament by getting through the regional tournament as the fourth seed and posted wins over Calvin College and Michigan State. Flint won Pool D as the fourth seed and defeated California (PA) 5-2, Iowa State 3-0 and Alabama 7-1. Through three games in the national tournament, the Victors have been led by Dan Cowan who has four goals and a pair of assists as well as Nathan Robson and Will Dawson who each have five points. Allan Kirk is 3-0 in net with a GAA of 1.00 and a save percentage of 0.97.
A LOOK at DAVENPORT - Davenport claimed their first ever MCHC West Division Title by going 13-1 in league play including their first ever sweep of rival Hope College...DU has played six of the 20 teams appearing at the National Tournament and went 6-4 in those matchups...
Jordan Steger and
Donald Sund lead the team in points (44) and goals (22) while
Branden Burton is tops in assists with 24...
John Cruse finished with a GAA of 1.94
