Davenport (14-9, 3-3 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference) and Siena Heights (5-11, 2-4 WHAC) are making up their series that was postponed on March 16-17 due to cold temperatures.
The Panthers officially opened up their new home, the Farmers Athletic Complex, with six games last week. The Panthers split a doubleheader with crosstown rival Aquinas last Wednesday while splitting a four-game set with Northwestern Ohio last weekend.
Siena Heights is coming off having split a doubleheader last Saturday against Lourdes. Siena Heights lost game one 6-2 but bounced back to beat the Gray Wolves 15-2 in the evening cap. The two ballclubs were slated to play another doubleheader Monday but cold temperatures have cancelled the rest of the series. Looking to avoid another poor temperature day, Siena Heights and Davenport have agreed to push their doubleheader to Wednesday.
Rochester (5-13) heads into a doubleheader with Davenport after having split a pair of contests with visiting Madonna. Kevin Moore has been pacing Rochester with a .400 batting average while Luke Strobl is the run producer, driving in 15 on the year.
Concordia (4-19) is struggling this season as it has lost nine of the last 10 games. Recently, Concordia was swept at home by Aquinas last weekend. Jeremy Robinson and Chase Freeman have been leading the effort for the Cardinals. Robinson is carrying a team-leading .368 average with nine doubles, a triple, a pair of home runs and 19 RBI. Freeman is hitting .278 but is not that far behind Robinson in the RBI department, having driven in 15.
