D3 Looks to Ring in The New Year With Away Victory

 
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers return after a two-week holiday break and ease into the new year with a single game weekend in which they play Michigan- Flint in Flint at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have maintained a solid record and look to finish what they started earlier in the season when their game was abruptly cancelled after a complication with the white board. Some new and old faces join the rest of the Panthers on the ice Friday to help take on Michigan and break-in the New Year properly.

Scouting Michigan-Flint
The University of Michigan-Flint has maintained a solid record of 10-4-0-1-2 throughout the 2013 season. The team has come together to score 78 goals, 120 assists for a total of 198 points on the season. Dan Cowan stands out as an offensive leader for his team, ranking number one in overall points with 30 and assists with 23. Daniel Smith and Nicholas Manley tie as the overall goal leader, putting ten goals on the board each.
Schuyler Ferguson is at the head of every major goaltender category for Michigan-Flint by holding a 7-1-1 record, capturing 182 saves and keeping a GAA of 2.02.
 
Scouting Davenport
The Panthers ended 2013 on a positive note, improving their record to 18-4-0-1 after defeating Aquinas in an overtime showdown after Daniel Swink managed to put one past the Saints goaltender just as time began to run out. DU ended the 2013 part of the season with 121 goals and 162 assists which come together for an impressive 283 points thus far. Few players have stepped forward this year as much as Donald Sund who leads his team in assists with 22 and points with 38, along with ranking third in goals with 16 on the season. Jake Otto has the goal category covered with 18.
John Cruse and Andrew Habasevich have both stood strong in the net this season and neither goaltender has dropped below a 90% save percentage. Cruse has captured 317 saves and Habasevich 165 giving the Panthers nearly 500 save's before 2014 even started.
