Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Davenport DIII hockey team hosted Adrian College in their second game of a two-game weekend series as they eyed revenge for their 8-0 loss this past Friday night. Unfortunately, Adam Rooney's 46 saves was not enough as the Panthers fell to the Bulldogs by a score of 11-2.
 
The first period started off with back and forth play between the Panthers and the Bulldogs, until Adrian found the back of the net on a breakaway goal. Adrian built on that goal by adding two more goals in the period, with one of them coming on a power play.
 
Adrian did not stop their relentless attack in the second period as they topped their three-goal 1^st period performance with four more goals. The Panthers only managed to come away with 17 shots, and went into the second intermission down 7-0.
 
The Panthers found life in the 3^rd period as they netted their first goals of the season. Justice Postman and Chris Pakalnins found the back of the net for Davenport, but Adrian managed to tack on four more goals of their own to defeat the Panthers 11-2. Adam Rooney gloved 46 saves on 57 Adrian shots.
 
Davenport will hit the road against next weekend, as they will travel to Holy Cross College for a two-game series on October 17^th and 18^th. The puck drops at 9:15 p.m. on Friday night, and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
