GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After a successful opening weekend in Muskegon, the Davenport Wrestling team will begin head-to-head action this Wednesday night against Heidelberg University. The matches are set to begin at 7 p.m.

The Panthers
 
Last weekend, the Panthers competed in the Muskegon Community College Duals, and the "Ben McMullen Open", which also took place at Muskegon CC. In the Duals, Davenport came out victorious in their hard fought match against Lincoln College, but dropped their second dual to Muskegon CC by a score of 40-9.
 
In the Ben McMullen Open, Davenport had three wrestlers place in the top four, with Zack Yates (125) and Connor Hughes (133) finishing third in their respected weight classes. Glenn Geurink Finished fourth in the 285 lb. class.
 
Scouting Heidelberg
 
Heidelberg comes into Wednesday's match after they took part in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational this past Saturday. Richard Dowdley and Damon Cheek took first place in their respected weight classes, with each of them going 4-0 on the day.
