GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport D3 hockey will have two games this weekend against crosstown rival Grand Valley State. Davenport is still in search of their first win of the season as they sit at 0-5-0-0 on the season. The home-and-home series will start on Friday in Walker, Mich. at 8:30 p.m. and the series will wrap up at Patterson Ice Center on Saturday at 8:20 p.m.

Scouting Grand Valley State The Lakers come into the weekend with an 8-4-0-1 record, and Grand Valley was able to salvage a weekend split two weeks ago with Calvin College after losing at home and then grabbed a win on the road. Chris Norkus leads the team with 13 point, and the leading goal scorers for the Lakers are Alex Bjork and Nate Dykstra with six goals apiece. Jiri Aberle has a 6-3-0 record in net with a 3.35 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
The Panthers Davenport is coming into the weekend after one game against Adrian-Gold, and the Panthers lost the game 15-0.
Kelton Maskell made 61 saves in the game and drops to 0-3-0 on the year.
Justice Postman has two goals for Davenport to lead the way for the team.
Josh Riemersma has two assists on the year to lead the team in assists.
Chris Pakalnins has chipped in with one goal and one assists along, and
Jacob Blok has also picked up an assist on the season.
