Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport D3 hockey team played local rival Grand Valley State in a home-and home series this weekend. Davenport lost the first game in Walker, Mich., 18-2 and then lost at home 13-0. Davenport falls to 0-7-0-0 on the year. The Panthers will now have next week off before they close out the month with a road game against Adrian-Gold on Thursday, November 20 at 6:50 p.m.
 
Game 1
 
On Friday evening the Panthers and Lakers kicked of the weekend series in Walker, Mich. The game started as a tightly contested battle between both teams as Grand Valley held a slim two goal lead just half way through the game.
 
Grand Valley than ran away with the game in the second half of the game as they scored 14 unanswered goals to win the game 18-2.
 
Game 2
 
In the final game of the home-and-home series at Patterson Ice Center on Saturday night, Davenport played the Grand Valley tight and caused the Lakers to turn the puck over in the neutral zone in the early going. The Lakers got the board with a goal 5:25 in the first period.
 
Grand Valley was finally able to find their grove in the game as they scored four mores goals in the first period to take a 6-0 lead into the first intermission. The Lakers did not let off the gas as they scored seven more goals in the final two periods to win the game 13-0 and complete the weekend sweep.
 
The Lakers riffled 55 shot on net and Kelton Maskell made 42 saves in the game. Davenport drops to 0-7-0-0 on the season.
 
The Panthers will now be off next weekend before they close out the month with a matchup against Adrian-Gold in on Thursday, November 20 in Adrian, Mich. at 6:50 p.m.
