Box Score 2 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In a pair of road games for the D3 hockey team against crosstown rival, Aquinas, Davenport was unable to grab their first win of the season. The Panthers lost both games against the Saints by the score of 11-0, as Davenport drops to 0-12-0-0 on the season. After concluding their first semester schedule, Davenport will be off for over a month before they return to the ice for a pair of road games against Central Michigan starting January 23rd.

In the first game of the weekend on Friday night, Davenport gave up five goals in the first period, but the defense held strong in the first period as the Panthers only allowed one goal in second period as they trailed 6-0 heading into the third period. However, in the third period, Aquinas found their scoring touch once again as they found the back of the net five more times, including three more off the power play, to cap off the 11-0 win for the Saints.

On Saturday, Aquinas started the game the same way as they did in the first game of the weekend scoring five goals in the first period to take a commanding 5-0 lead after one period. The Saints but three more goals up in the second period and rounded out the weekend with three more goals in the third to complete of the weekend sweep of Davenport.

DU will now be away from competition for more than a month as they will be back in action in 2015 on January 23rd when they face Central Michigan on the road.
