MCHC All-Conference Teams
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After a season that saw 25 wins and a successful Michigan Collegiate Hockey Association title defense, four members of Davenport's D3 hockey team highlighted the league's postseason honors that were announced Tuesday.
Donald Sund takes home the most valuable player award and was named second-team All-MCHC, Garret Garber and
Daniel Swink were added to first team in the West Division and
John Cruse named to the second-team.
The Panthers finished conference play last weekend with a sweep of Calvin which gave them a 11-2-0-1 league record and the number one seed in the MCHC tournament this weekend, starting with Lansing CC in Byron Center Friday at 2 p.m.
Sund finished the regular season with leading the team in assists with 30 and total points with 52, Swink finished the regular season with 21 goals and 13 assists and Garber ended with one goal and 19 assists as a defender.
Panther netminder Cruse finished the regular season with a record of 15-4 and a GAA of 2.18. He managed to capture 588 saves during the regular season and served as a leader of the goaltending for D3.
