DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After averaging 10 hits in the last six games, the third-ranked Embry-Riddle baseball team limited Davenport to three singles in the Panthers 3-2 defeat Tuesday night at Daytona Beach. The loss also snapped the Panthers five-game win streak. DU's tour through The Sun Conference opponents continues Wednesday as it travels to Lakeland, Fla., to play a doubleheader with Southeastern with game one slated for a 3 p.m. first pitch.

EJ Grochowalski and Zac Wilson saw their hit streak elevate to six after recording the base hits. Wilson also added a RBI to his evening while Jordan Zylstra recorded the third single.

Left-hander (0-1) Anthony Alarcon threw 4 2/3 innings on the mound, allowing all three runs and eight hits. He also struck out three and didn't walk a batter.

Davenport got on the board first in the third inning. Tyler Baratono struck out but reached safely thanks to a wild pitch and scored on Wilson's two-out single to center.

Embry-Riddle (7-7) scored all three of its runs in the fourth inning with five consecutive hits including a pair of doubles.

The Panthers cut the deficit to one in the fifth. Zylstra led off with a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored when Connor Seymour reached on a throwing error.

Along with leaving seven runners stranded, the Panthers were caught stealing the base paths three times.

Post-Game Notes
The all-time series between Davenport and Embry-Riddle are even one win apiece…The three hits the Panthers recorded is the second fewest on the year
