GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers had a three goal lead during the second period after a pair of goals from Jake Otto. The Bulldogs managed to make it a one goal game in the third and DU was suddenly forced to kick it into overdrive on defense to win the game 5-3.

Davenport and Adrian-Gold both had trouble taking control of tonight's game and the puck possession was relatively split between the two teams. It wasn't until there was only three and a half seconds left that DU was able to take the 1-0 lead with a goal from Zachary Bodziak after a passing play from Tommy Barbe and Bryon Guerin.

Otto increased the Panthers lead to two with an early second period goal that happened less than two minutes into the second. Otto wasn't finish yet and gave his team even more comfort room with a goal 9:49 into the period that involved a crisp passing play from Blake Damerow and Donald Sund. The Bulldogs responded 15:12 seconds into the period with a shorthanded goal that made it past John Cruse. Adrian scored another goal with three minutes left in the period that once again put pressure on Davenport. Davenport managed to get one more in with seven seconds left to head into the locker room for the second time leading 4-2.

The Bulldogs captured an early third period goal to make it a one-goal game with 16 minutes left. a one goal game with 16 minutes remaining in the third. The Panthers didn't respond until Bryon Guerin received a pass that he took in front and scored after demonstrating some stick skill, faking the goalie out with just over four minutes remaining

Davenport pulls the curtain on the regular-season this weekend with a two-game conference series against crosstown rival Calvin. The Knights open game one at Eagles Ice Center Friday at 8 p.m. before the series moves over to Patterson Ice Center Saturday at 7:20 p.m.
