JACKSON, Tenn. – For just the second time in school history, the Davenport Softball team was no-hit as they fell in game one to Union 1-0 but the Panthers came back with a big 8-0 mercy win in the nightcap to get the split against the NCAA DII Bulldogs. DU is now 12-3 on the season and has a DH at Shawnee State on Sunday.

Game 1 – Union 1, Davenport 0

In a pitcher's duel between Davenport's Emily Maves and Union's Kelly Robey, it was a single run in the fourth inning by the Bulldogs that became the only tally on the scoreboard as the home team posted a 1-0 win. Maves ended up finishing the seven innings while allowing just two hits, the one earned run while striking out a career high 10 batters.

But the story of the game was the Union pitcher, Robey, as she became just the second opposing hurler in school history to not allow a Davenport hit. Robey allowed only two base-runners for the Panthers, both via walks and she finished with eight strikeouts to up her record to 7-3 on the year.

Game 2 – Davenport 8, Union 0 (6)

The Panthers wasted little time in getting their first hit and eventually their first run of the day as Ashleigh Blovsky hit an RBI single to put DU up 1-0. The runs kept coming in the second with an RBI single from Paige Sant'Angelo and 2-RBI single from freshman Haley Obetts.

Davenport added to their lead in the fourth inning when freshman Alyssa Eastman connected on a 2-run homer to up the margin to 7-0.

The second game shutout was complete when Kyleigh Linebaugh got an RBI in the sixth inning to give DU the mercy rule win 8-0. Alyssa Eastman got the win in the circle for the Panthers as the freshman went four innings while giving up just three hits and no runs to improve to 4-1.

Davenport will head to Portsmouth, Ohio on Sunday to continue their action against Shawnee State in a doubleheader slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

Post-Game Notes
The loss in game one was the first of the career for freshman Emily Maves as she falls to 6-1…Davenport still trails Union in the all-time series which now stands at
