A Quick Look at Purdue North Central – 6-9 – Head Coach Shane Prance
Under second-year head coach Shane Prance, the Panthers are having an up-and-down year. They are recently coming off a pair of 0-2 setbacks to Mount Vernon Nazarene last Thursday and a 9-3 win over Clarke University Friday. Ty Devine paces the ballclub with a .404 batting average and .519 slugging percentage. He is also tied with Joe Czarnecki in doubles (3) and Alex May in RBI (11). Czarnecki is also proven to be sneaky on the base paths with nine stolen bases. The Panthers pitching staff carry a 2.95 ERA and a .270 opposing batting average. PNC has also punched out 72 batters and walked 35.
A Quick Look at Rochester College – 1-5 – Head Coach Ryan Chipka
The Warriors are under new management with former captain Ryan Chipka at the helm. After picking up their first win of the season over Penn State – Brandywine on March 18, Mother Nature hasn't been nice to the Warriors as the last six games were cancelled. Kevin Moore, who has started all six games, paces the team in batting (.476) and is second on the ballclub with three RBI, one behind leader Luke Strobl. Chipka has turned penciled in only three starting pitchers this season in Ryan Balazy, Alex Riopelle and Billy Eller. Balazy has been considered the team's ace with a 1.69 ERA and eight strikeouts. Jason Rometty has been Chipka's go-to guy out of the bullpen, having made three appearances and throwing nine innings. Rometty has allowed eight runs during his outings.
