KC Dunne closed Davenport softball's season-opening week in Florida delivering a two-run walk-off double for a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Grace at a rainy NTC Softball Complex Saturday. The 23
rd-ranked Panthers tried to push for the minimum requirement of five innings with a 7-5 lead in game two over Judson but the game was called off due to excessive rain in the fourth.

Davenport jumped to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning against Grace.
Alyssa Eastman doubled down the left field line to lead off the inning and scored on
Karli Myers double to center field.

Grace would answer back the next half inning by tallying three runs on
Emily Maves (5-1) on a two-run triple followed by a ground out to take a 3-1 lead.

The Panthers rally started in the sixth inning when
Paige Sant'Angelo led off with a blast to left field for her third home run in the last four games. One inning later, DU's second comeback attempt began with
Sarah Schneidenbach and
Carli SanMillan earning back-to-back walks.
Alyssa Koziol grounded out back to the pitcher but it allowed the runners to advance to second and third to set up a two-run, walk-off double to complete the rally.

Maves went from start to finish despite walking seven and conceding six hits. Both teams each recorded a half of a dozen hits.

Davenport returns to Michigan 10-1 overall and will head down to Kentucky for the Lindenwood-Belleville Tournament starting Saturday with No. 25 Taylor. First pitch is 9 a.m.
