GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After being swept by rival Hope College last weekend, the Davenport D3 hockey team will conclude their season with a home-and-home series against Michigan State. The Panthers are 0-16-0 on the season and are looking to end their season on a strong note. The series with the Spartans will start on Saturday afternoon at 7:20 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Mich., at the Patterson Ice Center.

The Spartans enter the weekend with a 15-6-3 record on the year, and had a pair of games last weekend and started with a 4-1 win over Calvin and tied Michigan-Flint, 3-3. Will Badner leads the team with 39 points and 24 assists on the season, while Derek Compeau is the leading goal scorer with 16 on the season. In net Kyle Laslo has played the majority of the season in net, and has a 3.60 goals against average to go along with a .887 save percentage.

Davenport enters the weekend after they were unable to avoid a sweep against Hope last weekend, as they fall to 0-16-0 on the season. Leading the team in goals and points is
Cody Olsen with three and four respectively, while
Josh Riemersma leads the team with a pair of assists. In net,
Kelton Maskell has played the majority of time in net and has an 11.15 goals against average and a .830 save percentage.
