GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a sweep over Aquinas and Concordia last week to start the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title defense, the No. 8 Davenport baseball team continues the homestand with the Panthers other Beltline rival Cornerstone stopping by the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex Tuesday at 3 p.m. The game was originally scheduled Wednesday but due to rain on the forecast that day, both schools agreed to move it early.

A Quick Look at Davenport (20-2, 6-0 WHAC)The Panthers have been on a roll as of late, having won their last 11 games. Last week, Davenport took two 'road' victories from its crosstown rival Aquinas (3-2/13-3) and then swept a four-game set with Concordia (13-3/3-1/7-3/4-0) at home over the course of the weekend. The Panthers have kept pace with Madonna and Northwestern Ohio for first place in the WHAC standings.

A Quick Look at Cornerstone (8-13, 1-3 WHAC)The Golden Eagles, in their third year as a program, have lost three of four to Indiana Tech to open WHAC play last weekend. Cornerstone took game one of the series 4-3 but lost the next three contests 1-2, 2-8, 1-2. Senior outfielder/third baseman Tommy Enslen leads David Mitroff's ballclub with a .339 average. He has only one home run to his name but has driven in 18 of the Golden Eagles 82 runs this season.
