GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a doubleheader sweep against crosstown rivals Cornerstone Tuesday, the No. 6 Davenport baseball team wraps up a 13-game stand at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex Saturday and Sunday against Lourdes. The Panthers, who are 22-2 on the year, enter the weekend 8-0 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play and are keeping pace with Madonna and Northwestern Ohio, which are also unbeaten in league play.

A Quick Look at Davenport (22-2, 8-0 WHAC)
The Panthers continue to stay hot as they have won all 13 games played in their ballpark as well as this month. Reigning WHAC Pitcher of the Year Corey Murphy had a solid performance on the mound in Davenport's 13-2, 7-inning win over Cornerstone, striking out seven in six innings of work. He also allowed six hits and an earned run in the fourth. In addition, he did not issue a free pass. Ryan Manning had five hits and three RBI on the day to lead the Panthers in the lineup. Connor Seymour tallied four hits and drove in two runs.
 
A Quick Look at Lourdes (5-13, 1-5 WHAC)
The Gray Wolves enter the weekend having lost a doubleheader to Indiana Tech 13-4, 8-1 Wednesday. Lourdes has lost eight of its last nine games. On Saturday, Frank Shaffer (RHP, 0-3, 11.93) and Matt Olsavsky (0-0, 2.53) are scheduled to make the starts to open the Davenport series.  Nate Snow (RHP, 0-2, 9.35) is slated to start one of the two games on Sunday while the other game's starter has yet to be determined.
