No. 23 Softball Meets No. 25 Taylor, Lindenwood-Belleville in Missouri

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a 10-1 start to the season over spring break last week, the 23rd-ranked Davenport softball team now heads to St. Charles, Mo., for four games between Lindenwood-Belleville and No. 25 Taylor. The Panthers will face Taylor Friday at 2 p.m. ET and will follow with Lindenwood-Belleville. DU returns to the diamond Saturday starting with the Trojans at noon followed by the Lynx at 2 p.m.

A Quick Look at Lindenwood-Belleville
The Lynx had a very busy weekend last week to open the 2015 season, playing six games in three days at the NFCA/NAIA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., going 2-4 on the year with wins over Georgia Gwinnett and No. 19 Williams Woods. Taylor Winn, a two-way player, has been doing it all for the Lynx, leading the team with a .400 batting average and a home run while on the circle she is 2-0 with an earned run allowed in 16.1 innings of work and 14 strikeouts.

Davenport and Lindenwood-Belleville have never met on a softball diamond but have seen each other in women's lacrosse and women's basketball.

A Quick Look at Taylor
The Trojans are coming off a 5-1 to the 2015 season, splitting with Webber International in the season opener and sweeping a doubleheader at Northwood (Fla.) back in January. They also defeated Cumberland and Tennessee Wesleyan last Saturday to resume the season. Alex Lovelace is currently 13-for-21 with a pair of doubles to lead Taylor offensively. Ashley Miller and Davis Carter have each hit two home runs and combined for 14 RBI. Hannah Robbins started three of her four appearances and is 2-0 with a 0.89 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
 
Panthers vs. Trojans
This will also be the first time Davenport and Taylor meet in softball. The two schools met in both soccer, basketball and volleyball.
