A Quick Look at Davenport (39-6, 23-4 WHAC)For the first time this season, the Panthers were on the losing end of a series as Northwestern Ohio took 3-of-4 from Davenport at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex last weekend. Although it did not put the Panthers in jeopardy of losing the WHAC title, the Racers did jump to a half-game lead in the standings with eight games remaining for Davenport. The Panthers finish the regular-season on the road at Siena Heights and Madonna. UNOH has 10 to go before the regular-season ends. Despite going cold at the plate, the Panthers are second in the NAIA with a .365 batting average.
Â
A Quick Look at Olivet (5-26, 4-16 MIAA)The Comets, under ninth-year head coach Ted Mahan, have lost 12 of their last 13 contests. Most recently, Olivet is coming off being swept by Kalamazoo in MIAA action last weekend. Like Davenport, Olivet will be wrapping up its non-conference schedule and will finish the regular-season in MIAA action. The Comets altogether are hitting .242 but have trouble producing runs as opponents are outscoring them 93-199.
