Going Purple
On Saturday afternoon against Saint Xavier, Davenport will host their fourth annual purple game to take a stand against domestic violence. The Panthers have worked with the Cristi Curtis Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Andrea Loynes Foundation to put on this event.

The Cristi Curtis Memorial Scholarship was created in 2007 after Curtis lost her life as a result of domestic violence. Cristi, a special education teacher and volleyball coach, devoted much of her time to developing well-rounded students. With the funds raised in honor of her memory, each year two $1000 scholarships are awarded to one special education student and one volleyball player at Byron Center High School. Through the memorial fund, Cristi's commitment to education and athletics will continue to live on.

There will be various raffle prizes, t-shirt sales, purple popcorn, and putt putt golf. All of the proceeds from the day will be donated to the Cristi Curtis Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Andrea Loynes Foundation.
