LIMA, Ohio – The Davenport baseball team suffered a 13-0 loss in seven innings on Saturday to open a three-game Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series at Northwestern Ohio. Reigning WHAC Pitcher of the Week Grant Wolfram lasted just 3.2 innings and allowed seven runs for the Panthers. Kyle Thomas was superb for the Racers throwing seven innings and allowing three hits with six strikeouts in the shutout.
The top of the order was lethal for UNOH as leadoff hitter Kyle Fisher went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs and three RBI. Jonathan Rodriguez collected a pair of doubles in three at-bats with two runs and two RBI. Jeff Cardenas in the three-spot collected two RBI.
The Panthers had three singles in the contest from Aaron Fadden, Luke Lalumia and
Matt Hoge. The teams will play twice tomorrow at noon to conclude the series.
