GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers lose a hard fought battle against the Timberwolves 7-6. Davenport went into the third period leading 6-3 and gave up four goals in third period while being shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first period saw the Panthers jump out to a 2-1 lead. The visiting Timberwolves struck first with a goal in the opening minute of play, Davenport would have control the rest of the period.
-The second period was filled with action, as the Panthers scored four goals in the period. Sophomore forward Christopher Heath completed a hat trick in the second period, he was assisted by Bailey Rietman on both goals.
-The Panthers were shutout in the third period and the Timberwolves would pour in four goals. Davenport couldn't find an answer to slow the visiting Timberwolves down and would lose 7-6 as a result.
-Heath led DU in goals with the hat trick (three goals).
-Rietman had himself a night as he assisted on five different goals.
-Nick Allen tallied the most penalty minutes as he was given 15 minutes and ejected from the game in the first period.

The Panthers will take the week to gear up for their next match-up against Grand Valley State University. Davenport will travel to Allendale on Friday the 21^st to take on the Lakers at 7 p.m.
