Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Davenport University baseball team made the voyage down to Faulkner University on Friday to play a pair of games against Lindenwood-Belleville and the host Eagles. The Panthers won 4-2 against the Lynx and then fell 8-3 to No. 3 Faulkner in the second game putting them at 3-2 overall this season.
Corey Murphy improved to 2-0 on the mound tossing five innings and allowing six hits and two runs. He walked one and struck out three before handing the ball to 
Jonathan Cheshire who went the last two innings and allowed one hit and no runs to earn his first save this season. Nick Hummel took the loss for LU-Belleville going four innings and allowing seven hits and four runs. He walked two and struck out three.
The top two of the order collected four of the team's eight hits. 
Travis Bolin rocked his second home run of the season to lead off the three-run fifth inning for the Panthers. He also had a single, run, RBI and was hit by a pitch. 
Jeremy Vasquez went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. 
Zack Sardellitti drew a bases loaded walk with the first inning and had a RBI single to plate the fourth run of the game in the fifth inning.
The Panthers took a 2-0 lead after two innings against Faulkner. 
Matt Priebe had a RBI groundout in the first inning and 
Connor Seymour had a RBI groundout in the second inning. Faulkner then scored five times in the bottom of the third and added two more runs in the fourth. Dennis Morton hit a solo home run to start the third inning. David Palenzuela followed with a RBI single to tie the game. Delvy Palmeiro hit a two-run single and Nick Cain had a RBI single which chased DU starter 
Tyler Bradner. Bradner took the loss (0-2) going 2.2 innings with six hits allowed and five runs. He walked two and struck out four.
Corbin Clouse entered in the third inning and pitched 1.1 innings with three walks and three strikeouts. 
Krystien Johnson-Batillana threw the last two innings for DU with one earned run, three walks and three strikeouts. Mark Vasquez went six innings for the Eagles to pick up the win. He allowed seven hits and one earned run with no walks and seven strikeouts. DU scored one run in the fifth as 
Jeremy Vasquez had a RBI double. The Panthers will play both teams again on Saturday starting with Faulkner at 1 p.m. followed by LU-Belleville.
