Bowlers Have Busy Weekend at Hoosier Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Davenport bowling teams took part in the 48th Annual Hoosier Classic presented by Columbia 300 on Saturday and Sunday. The teams competed in team and individual portions on Saturday and baker games on Sunday.

The men's team finished 12th of 78 teams with 5,885 pins in the team event on Saturday. Sean Taylor cracked the top 20 individually with a total of 1,297 pins in six games (216.16) including a high of 246 in the fourth game. Adam Batliner placed 23rd with 1,277 pins in six games (212.83) and rolled three 200 games including 247 in game one. Kyle Koprowitz was the third-best finisher for Davenport with 1,080 pins (180) including a high of 208 in game five.

The men's team took those 5,885 pins into baker games on Sunday but fell down to 33rd place with a grand total of 8,348. On the women's side, Mercedes Herrera placed 189 with an average of 157.83 and rolled a 210 in game two. Olivia Clark rolled 939 in six games including a 209 in game one. Anna Sieffert posted a 188 in game two and finished with 934 pins. The Panthers took 4,484 pins into baker games and came out in 58th place out of 66 teams. DU rolled 696 in the first baker block followed by 738 and 741.
