Davenport Loses In Match Against Robert Morris University (Ill.)

Box Score The men's volleyball team played a tough match against NAIA school Robert Morris University of Illinois. Robert Morris started their season off strong with an overall record of 4-0, leading them to the number five pick for the NAIA Coaches Top 10 Poll. This was a tough match for the Panthers who fell to the Eagles with set scores of 10-25, 21-25, and 11-25.
 
Nathanael Vander Meer ranked the highest in three categories - kills (13), hitting percentage (.250) and number of points scored in the game (13.5), while Christopher Croft gathered 16 assists. Jason Mais and Jordan McCulloch tied with a team best of seven digs, the next highest was Vander Meer with four. The team had four blocks, of which Jason Mais claimed two and Sean Cox claimed one.
 
This loss brings the Panthers record to 7-2, however they need to bounce back quickly as they have an all-day tournament at the Davenport Student Center today. They will host multiple matches against five conference teams: Grand Valley, Calvin, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, and Bowling Green. Play will start at 9:00 a.m.
