ORLANDO, Fla. – Davenport ended their spring break trip with a challenge, facing one of the top teams in NAIA in the University of Mobile. The rams are currently ranked number 11 in the country and held a 5-1 record going into the match. Davenport was step for step with Mobile in singles, splitting the six matches 3-3. The doubles is what separated the two teams, the Rams swept all three.

Doubles Competition
The doubles competitions favored the Rams in this match. The first doubles to finish on the day was
Matthew McClurg and
Jonathan Bulmer in second doubles, who lost 8-4. Finishing close behind them in third doubles was
Michael Digby and
Remy Johansen, they lost 8-3. March Lerch and
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen put up the best fight in doubles, losting 8-6 in first doubles.
Singles Competition
Lerch, McClurg and Bulmer all took victories in singles. Lerch won in three sets, 6-3, 6-7 (3-7), and 10-8. In third singles McClurg cruised to a win, winning his two sets 6-3 and 6-1. Bulmer won in fourth singles 6-4 and 6-3 over Tim Buehler. Antwerpen, Johansen, and Digby all lost in their singles matches.

The Panthers play one more non-conference match before they play six straight GLIAC matches. Davenport hosts local NAIA school Cornerstone University on Tuesday, March 20.
