TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – Davenport heads into the 2019 GLIAC Tournament as winners of their last seven games to vault them into the four-seed. The Panthers are hoping to take the next step after finishing as runner-up in the 2018 GLIAC Tournament held in Detroit. The winner of that tournament and the first round opponent this season is Northwood University. The Timberwolves have won each of the last two GLIAC Tournaments and represented the conference in the NCAA Division II Tournament. The setting for this year's tournament is Wuerfel Park in Traverse City, home of the Traverse City Pit Spitters of the Northwoods League. DU and NU met in a four-game series earlier this season and the Timberwolves took three of four games in Caledonia at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The Panthers are hoping the postseason yields different results. Thursday's game will be Game 3 of the tournament and will start at 6 p.m. All games in the tournament will be 9 innings.
